Simon is currently an Adjunct Professor at The University of South Florida and at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. At USF Simon takes the Keyboard Skills & Harmony classes and teaches individual jazz piano. At HCC Simon teaches jazz piano.

Between 2005-2018, in London, England, Simon taught jazz piano, composition and musicianship at Trinity College of Music (now Trinity Laban), one of the U.K’s leading conservatories. During the same period, he was Head of Jazz at Bradfield College.

In 2019 Simon was awarded a Fellowship to study jazz composition with GRAMMY nominated composer, Chuck Owen, at The University of South Florida. He has a First Class Honours degree in Music and a Masters in Composition for Film, TV & Theatre from the University of Bristol and a Masters in Jazz Studies from The University of South Florida.

Following scholarship awards to partake in Winter Residencies at The Banff Centre in Canada in 2013 and 2014, Simon developed his unique ‘It’s All Music’ educational concept which he has presented to both specialist and non-specialist audiences in the U.K, Canada and The States.
